The Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership (DVLP) is recruiting a community officer to join the small team responsible for the delivery of this five year (2014-19) programme funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The DVLP is a multi-agency partnership led by Barnsley Council which aims to protect, preserve and enhance the heritage and environment of the Dearne Valley area of South Yorkshire.
The community officer will lead on the project management of a range of heritage, environmental and community projects, along with supporting the delivery of similar projects led by partners. They will have a particular responsibility for the elements of the programme focusing on footpath improvements, waymarking, signage, interpretation boards and access issues. Due to the nature of the approach of the DVLP they will work across the programme so will also be involved in community engagement, heritage research and capital development on key sites.
The post is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join a well established scheme, building on the successes to date and delivering innovative and exciting projects for the remainder of the programme. The Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership is supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The post is based at our office in Elsecar, is full time (37 hours per week) and is fixed term until 31st December 2018.
Salary: £26,822 – £29,323
Essential Criteria: Educated to degree level or equivalent. Experience of successful development and delivery of projects focusing on heritage / environment / community
