The area is part of many walks that take in the sights of Elsecar and Wentworth. It has become overgrown and the paths have degraded over time making it an unwelcome, muddy, dark area. We are aiming to clear back the scrub, so there’ll be some selective shrub thinning and litter picking. We’ll also be replacing some waymarkers and finger posts and generally making the place more pleasant.
We need your help to show some love to the environment. So if you want to spend more time doing something great for nature, please join us on 14th and/or 15th February between 10 am and 4 pm. Look for signs in the main visitor car park at Elsecar Heritage Centre.
You will need to be dressed for the weather and for dirty work. Please bring your own lunch. Alternatively, there are cafes on site offering a great selection of hot and cold food. All equipment will be provided and everybody is welcome.
