Hear My Voice Literacy Festival 2017

Hear My Voice is a three year project co-ordinated by Barnsley Museums for the people of Barnsley to express themselves through poetry, the written and spoken word.

The Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership (DVLP) is delighted to be part of the Hear My Voice project led by Barnsley Museums. We have worked in partnership with them on a series of workshops in schools across the Dearne and an engagement project in Grimethorpe with writing inspired by the film Brassed Off.

We’re now working with them as part of their 2017 festival, celebrating work that has happened in the last year.

We are funding two events:

  • Ebenezer Elliott Literary and Heritage Walk led by Ray Hearne and Steve Ely around Darfield and Brierley in the footsteps of the “Corn Law Rhymer”. You can find more details HERE.
  • Birding for Wording, a poetry and birdwatching walk led by Steve Ely at RSPB Old Moor. You can find more details HERE.
