Event Info

Following on from Jim’s hopper workshop for beginners held last year at Elsecar Heritage Centre in partnership with the DVLP. This workshop will adopt the same format with microscopes, specimens and a range of identification keys will be available for use by participants to identify bugs to family level.

The workshop is aimed primarily at beginners and to help them become familiar with the most easily identified species in the field. Those who attend who have a little more knowledge of the group will also be helped to identify specimens to species level.  Participants are also encouraged to bring along any specimens they have that need identifying.

It is hoped we will encourage more people in the Dearne to get out and record invertebrates, to help with their future protection and to raise awareness of key sites in the Dearne.

INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION OF NATURALISTS TOGETHER
