Barnsley Main is a key project of the for the Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership as it is one of the few major remnants of the mining industry left in South Yorkshire. Getting the building listed just over a year ago was significant in not only highlighting its importance but protecting it for the future. The next 18 months will see plans developed that will see its profile raised further.
