As part of our ongoing work to improve the Barnsley Main site for visitors we have organised a volunteer work day with the Barnsley Central Area Team.
We are looking for people to come and help with clearing the old tramways for use as footpaths. This old colliery infrastructure provides the perfect solution to people exploring the site safely.
Come along and help preserve this unique piece of Barnsley’s history and get involved with the emerging ‘Friends of Barnsley Main’ group.
Please wear sensible clothing and footwear, all equipment and refreshments will be provided. Meet at Dearne Valley Park car park on Pontefract Road.
