Event Info
As part of the DVLP’s on-going partnership with Sorby Natural History Society we are trying to build up a clearer picture of the biodiversity on a number of key sites around the Dearne Valley, including local woodland sites in the Dearne.
This is one site of a series the DVLP are focusing recording efforts on in partnership with SIG for 2017.
The group will be leading a special recording day on site, recording rare and unique invertebrates on this fantastic site. With more wildlife data we are able to better manage sites and educate more individuals about such rare and valuable biodiversity.
The day will cover all invertebrates but will have a particular focus on snails and slugs led by Sorby tutor Robert Cameron.
Tutors will be on hand throughout the visit to assist with survey and identification techniques. No previous experience required any skill level welcome. Just bring sensible outdoor clothing, any recording/field kit and a packed lunch.
Please let us know if you will be attending and get in touch using the contact details below.
We will be meeting at 11am in Wombwell Woods public Car Park which can be accessed via Woodhead Lane off the A6195.
