Event Info

With the TdY passing through Barnsley on Friday 4th May 2018, we’re working with artist Patrick Murphy and photographer Anton Want to create a huge (90m x 130m!) image representing Kes, on Crown Platts Recreation Ground, Barnsley Road in Hoyland – right alongside the route of the TdY!

This geometric representation of Kes will initially be marked out with guide ropes, but we really need your help with the final image. Kes will only emerge once 1.5m wide rolls of fabric are rolled out across the field.

So if you’d like to take part in making this very special Barnsley land art, come and join us on Thursday 3rd May, between 9.30am and 4.30pm.

You can stay all day, or just drop in for a few hours. Whatever time you’d like to attend, please let us know that you’re coming by emailing us at [email protected] or calling on 01226 772414, no later than Tuesday 1st May 2018.

This Kes image is part of our work with Patrick and Anton throughout 2018, celebrating the 50th anniversary of this hugely popular book. You can find out more about the project at www.kes50.co.uk
