Common Lichens on Trees (ID Workshop) – FULLY BOOKED

Steve Price, the Lichen Recorder for Sorby NHS, will be helping you to learn about and identify those lichens that are commonly found on trees. Particularly those expected to be found in urban and park habitats.

Dates

Start Date: 17th February 2019, 10:30
End Date: 17th February 2019, 16:00

Event Info

This workshop is aimed at beginners (no prior knowledge needed, just bring plenty of enthusiasm).

By the end of the day you should be able to identify 8 plus of the most common lichens on trees, and hopefully feel confident enough to go away to record your finds – and then contribute them to the Sorby lichen recording scheme!

The workshop will, with the aid of identification charts, hand lenses and microscopes aid the study of reference specimens, specimens brought in by attendees and, weather permitting, specimens found on the day. So please dress appropriately for a trip outdoors on site.

Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring a packed lunch or take advantage of the two cafes on site.

Places are FREE but booking is essential, please contact Roseanna to secure your place using the details below
