The arable field was recently purchased by the Garganey Trust and is strategically located next to existing wetland nature reserves; and will enhance wildlife habitats and biodiversity, particularly for species of declining waterfowl. Wet grassland, reed beds and scrapes (to hold seasonal water) will be created, along with the construction of control structures and a culvert to direct water to where it is needed to maintain habitat areas.
