Last year we worked with the School of English from The University of Sheffield to help them bring together local people as part of a reading group at Hoyland Library, looking at the writing of Barry Hines and his interpretation of local landscapes.
These workshops then acted as a starting point for a film – A Cushion of Mist, created by Picture Story Productions. It’s a beautiful short film that captures how important the local landscape was to the work of Barry Hines but also to local people.

We look forward to working with The University of Sheffield throughout 2018 marking the 50th anniversary of the publication of “Kestrel for a Knave”.
