Event Info
As part of an exciting new collaboration with Northern Rail, the DVLP will be working with there fantastic partners at Sorby Natural History Society to undertake a number of recording visits across the Dearne Valley network of railway stations.
We will be tackling x8 stations across the Dearne Valley network, starting off with x2 stations a day from Thursday 14th June to Friday 15th June 2018, with more dates to be added.
These will take form via a number of pre-organised field visits with special permissions to access ‘asset areas’ of green space that adjoin local train stations owned and managed by Northern Rail. We will be recording anything we encounter including plants, animals, insects etc. This will provide important data of species distribution across the Dearne and to fill in any gaps in ecological data, we expect to find lots of goodies as these areas have never been surveyed before!
Therefore we are looking for willing & enthusiastic volunteers to join us , you don’t need any prior experience just an interest in nature and conservation, if you specialise in a species group even better!
All the data will go the LRC and will help tailor site specific management plans to help enhance and retain key wildlife across stations.
The following visits organised for June are:

Wombwell | Thursday 14th June (pm) | 14:00PM-17:00PM |
