Event Info
Starting at the Maurice Dobson Museum, walk the paths and fields of Darfield and Brierley Common and retrace the footsteps of Ebenezer Elliot, ‘the Corn Law Rhymer’ – one of Darfield’s most famous sons.
Elliott was a poet and political radical with a reputation equal to that of Wordsworth and during the 1840s he made Darfield Parish his home. This activity – part walk, part workshop, part discussion – will be sure to surprise you and get your imagination flowing.
Approx. 3-4 hours with a free mini bus to help with the mileage! This event is free but booking is essential.
