Event Info

Come on a guided bat walk along the Trans Pennine Trail starting at Elsecar Heritage Centre. The bat walk has been organised by Roseanna Burton from the DVLP team who has a keen interest in bats along with the help and expertise of local naturalist Derek Whitley via Sorby Mammal Group.

We will be using specialist bat detectors which will enable us to listen out for bats and open up a hidden world. The walk will follow the TPT and canal for approximately 1.5 miles and return along the same path (approx. 3 miles in total).

Please contact us at [email protected] to book a place, the walk is FREE and open to all.

Please wear suitable clothing for the weather and sturdy shoes. You might find it beneficial to bring a torch as well. Bat detectors will be provided although we have limited devices.

*Please note if it is raining the walk will not take place. Meeting and finish times may vary depending on sunset
