Event Info
We will start the day by looking at the role of the Riverfly Partnership and how by checking which aquatic invertebrates are around you can help monitor the health of our rivers and streams.
We will look at the lifecycles of the invertebrates and then look at “live” samples from a local river. While looking at the samples you will learn how to separate them into groups and do some basic identification work. In the afternoon we will continue the practical theme and look a little deeper into the world of invertebrate identification.
To enjoy this day you do not need any previous experience at looking at insects and all the equipment will be provided. All you need to bring along is a desire to learn more of the wonderful creatures that live in our watercourses.
