The Oaks Disaster is the worst mining disaster in English History, killing over 360 men and boys. A team of volunteers have been delving into the archives to reveal their stories. Come along to find out what they have discovered.
This event is free and is part of Explore Your Archives Week at Barnsley Archives and Local Studies. Research into the Oaks Disaster is being coordinated by the Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership as part of plans to mark the 150th Anniversary next year.
