Event Info
By popular request we will be having a go at Sawflies, but this workshop will be a bit different as we have no resident expert so it will be a “self help” workshop.
There will be keys and microscopes and lots of named reference specimens to you to examine. Derek Whiteley of SIG will get the ball rolling with an introduction slide show picking out some “easy hits” and looking at keys and identification guides. Other members are invited to chip in during the day to share our knowledge and help each other. This workshop will be suitable for beginners who wish to get a taste of a new group.
SIG has a database of local records but currently no recording scheme organiser. We hope that this workshop will stimulate more interest in sawflies, leading to more records from the Dearne Valley, Barnsley and the whole of Sorbyshire.
Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring a packed lunch. Places are FREE but booking is essential, to reserve your place please get in touch below.
Sorby Invertebrate Group and Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership working together to train the next generation of recorders, and recruiting to the SIG Recording Schemes.
