Event Info
Join the founder of Ruff Around The Hedges, Antony Hill, as he demonstrates traditional ways of working, living and craft skills synonymous with a Romany Woodsman. Antony will also recount the stories and histories of Romany heritage and share the experiences of his Romany ancestors who lived and worked in the woodlands of the Dearne Valley.
You can try your hand at basket weaving by the campfire, along with other crafts. You will also be able to listen to an exciting and vivid oral history of Romany people’s culture, their migration out of India to the British Isles and their superstitious folklore.
