After an introductory talk, the day will be spent in the woodland of Howell Woods. We will be identifying plants and understanding the ecology of ground flora species, and talk about the opportunity to enhance groundflora as plantations become woodlands.
This course will interest the beginner or intermediate botanist with an interest in woodland groundflora, or local people with an interest in the conservation of Howell Woods. The workshop will be led by woodland ecologist Steven Heaton of Haycock and Jay Associates as part of the DVLP’s woodland engagement project.
Places are FREE subsidised by the DVLP, however booking is essential please contact us below to reserve your place.
The majority of the workshop will take place in Howell Woods, however we will be meeting first thing at the Grove, Stockingate, South Kirkby, Pontefract, West Yorkshire (Details will be emailed to booked participants).
