The DVLP are delighted to see progress with the next phase of works at Barnsley Main. Work on the new entrance gate and access path is nearing completion.

This has been funded by Barnsley Council through Section 106 funding and the Heritage Lottery Fund as part of the DVLP.

This work has been carred out by P. Biddlestone Groundworks & Maintenance (thanks to them for the photos). This will make the site secure as well as improving pedestrian access and helping control vehicle access to the site. We can now start planning for the next phase, working with Barnsley Main Heritage Group.
