The second Wombwell Woods Weekend took place on 30th and 31st July 2016 and was a huge success. Led by Creative Recovery with support and funding from the Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership and in conjunction with the Forestry Commission it attracted over 300 people. The event aimed to provide a chance to “uplift your spirits and soothe your mind” and it certainly did that. Whether it was following the art trail, making woodland instruments, trying pewter casting, sitting round the campfire or enjoying performances of “The Tree Sparrow’s Tale”. There was an inviting atmosphere where everyone was welcome, where you could take time out and enjoy the woods. Well done to Creative Recovery and all their volunteers also a big thanks to Ruff Around the Hedges for helping people learn about traditional wilderness skills and outdoor living. These are just a selection of the photos, which hopefully give you and idea of how well the weekend went.
