Project Summary:
The WOM! project was a creative writing project led by the Chair of The Ted Hughes Project.
Demand for previous series of WOM! led to turning people away so The Ted Hughes Project were looking for further funding to deliver extra sessions for a second group, doubling the capacity of the workshops and allowing more people to engage with creative writing in the Dearne Valley.
The project involved a series of 15 sessions – these were a mixture of taught input, workshop sessions, peer and tutor assessment and master classes from writers of national and international stature.
The work of participants was showcased in a publication that was launched in a public reading (by participants) as part of the 2017 Ted Hughes Festival and at the ‘Ted Hughes and Place’ symposium at the University of Huddersfield.
