Phoenix Park

Phoenix Park is an area of community woodland area nestled between the towns of Goldthorpe and Thurnscoe in South Yorkshire.

The site is located in the Thurnscoe area of South Yorkshire. The site was once a slagheap which was used by the Hickleton Main Colliery and is now home to diverse wildlife.

There is a climbing wall, carved farmyard animals, a maze, and an art gallery designed by a local youth group.

It is also popular with walkers, cyclists and horse-riders.

Phoenix Park is owned by The Land Trust and managed by the Forestry Commission.
