Wombwell Wood is home to a variety of wildlife species and is popular with ramblers and orienteering enthusiasts due to its many trails.
The site is the habitat of a rich diversity of wildlife including kestrels, meadow pipits, skylarks and woodpeckers. Carpets of Bluebells can be seen in the spring.
